RailTel will become a catalyst for the data economy in the coming years, says CMD

RailTel Corporation of India Limited, a Mini Ratna PSU of the Ministry of Railways, celebrated its 23rd Founding Day at the CSOI auditorium on Friday.

Addressing RailTel employees on this momentous occasion, Sanjai Kumar, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), said, “I thank the entire Railtel extended family for their dedication and hard work in growing the business. We are a very young company with a mix of experienced and young blood in all of our verticals. This is a very exciting time for us as there is a huge opportunity for RailTel to multiply in the coming years riding the wave of digital transformation momentum which is the buzzword and the world goes digital at full power.”

He said RailTel, as an IT and ICT service provider, can play a pivotal role in any organization’s digital transformation journey. “We are adopting new technologies and upgrading to provide better service. In the next few years, RailTel will become an enabler of the data economy,” Kumar added.

N Manoharan, Independent Director of RailTel, said adaptability to market demands is RailTel’s USP that will help RailTel grow massively in the times to come.

According to Indian RailTel, a central public sector enterprise “Mini Ratna (Category-I)” under the Ministry of Railways, is one of the largest neutral providers of telecommunications infrastructure and ICT solutions and services in the country, possessing a pan-Indian fiber optic. network covering several cities and rural areas of the country.

Along with a strong and reliable network of over 61,000 RKM of fiber optics, RailTel also has two Tier III MeitY data centers. With its high-capacity Pan India network, RailTel is working to create a multi-pronged knowledge society and has been selected to implement various missions, Railways said.
