City of HCM (VNA) – Ho Chi Minh City coordinates with the world Bank (BM) to develop a data management strategyaimed at helping the city better cultivate data for governance works, said Vo Thi Trung Trinh, deputy director of the city’s information and communications department on August 30.

Trinh was speaking at the conference on building a strategic data vision for HCM City organized by the department and the World Bank.

The strategy identifies a vision, specific goals, priority areas and plans for implementing data and digitization projects to improve the city’s data-driven governance, she said.

The two parties have completed a survey and assessment of the current state of data and the data use needs of local state regulators, with a focus on three areas: urban planning, informing citizens and economic and financial development, she added.

She noted that the conference provides the city with an opportunity to receive expert consultations and recommendations to accelerate digital transformation and strengthen data management.

It also offers a platform for local services, administrations, professional associations and public companies to talk about how data can be used to support its management, the manager said./.
